One Good Bit is built on the belief that your gratitude is personal. We do not sell your data, we do not track your precise location, and we do not use your entries for advertisement targeting. Your bits are your own. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information in compliance with EU (GDPR) and US (CCPA) regulations.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Information
Email address (if provided for account creation), and unique identifiers (UID) generated via Firebase Authentication.
Journal Content
Your daily "bits", category tags, and timestamps. Privacy is strictly enforced via Firebase Security Rules, ensuring only you can access your entries.
Usage & Analytics
We use Posthog to understand app performance and feature usage. This data is anonymized and does not include your journal entries.
Payment Info
Subscription data is processed via RevenueCat and your respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). We never see or store your credit card details.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the Service (Real-time sync via Firebase).
- To manage your account and subscriptions.
- To provide customer support.
- To improve our Service through anonymized analytics.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the settings menu within the app. Once deleted, your data is permanently removed from our production databases.
4. EU Resident Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of your data (available via CSV export).
- Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure: Request data deletion ("Right to be Forgotten").

- Know what personal information is collected.
- Request deletion of personal information.
- Opt-out of the "sale" of personal information (Note: We do not sell your information).
